From our team here at NGV, we’d like to express our very best wishes to our community at this time.
Due to the evolving nature of COVID-19 and after following closely the State and Federal Government’s advice, we have extended the NGV’s temporary closure until 30 June.
If you have pre-purchased tickets for current exhibitions or upcoming programs, our team will be in contact with you shortly to arrange full refunds.
We encourage you to visit our website and follow #NGVEveryDay on social media for updates and daily inspiration.
We are very grateful for the loyalty and understanding of the NGV community and wish everyone well during this time.
It is a priority of the NGV to break down the barriers that make it challenging for some schools to visit the NGV and participate in our learning programs.
Our School Support Programs offer Victorian schools who otherwise would not have the opportunity to visit the Gallery, free access to NGV exhibitions and learning programs, free or subsidised transport, and learning resources.
We recognise that many factors can make it challenging for schools to visit the Gallery. They can include, but are not limited to, socio-economic circumstances, distance, and limited access to art programs or resources in school. When assessing applications for the School Support Program we will take multiple factors into consideration.
The Your NGV School Support Program provides free access to NGV exhibitions and learning programs for Levels 3-6 students in inner and outer metropolitan Melbourne who otherwise would not have the opportunity to visit the NGV. This program has a focus on supporting arts engagement and school-based art programs through providing meaningful opportunities for schools and their students, teachers and families to engage with the NGV over a three-year period.
Each year, for three years, the program provides participating schools with:
This program is supported by the Packer Family and Crown Resorts Foundations. The NGV is deeply grateful to the Foundations for their generous support of this program.
