What are the opening hours for the Members Lounges?
The NGV Members Lounges are open from 10am–5pm during Gallery opening hours. Extended hours apply during late night openings and early morning viewings.
What should I do if have forgotten my Membership card?
Please request a temporary card from the Members Lounges to access your full benefits during your visit to the NGV.
I’m waiting for my membership card to arrive but want to visit the gallery. Can I still access my membership benefits?
You can access all of your membership benefits by collecting a temporary membership card from Members Reception, Ground Level, NGV International or Level 1, The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia.
What should I do if my Membership card is lost or stolen?
Please call us on 03 8620 2233 to order a new card, or visit our team in person. There is a $5 administration fee for lost or stolen cards.
How can I set up auto renewal payments?
Automatic Renewal provides NGV Members with the easiest and simplest method to renew NGV Memberships. By opting into Automatic Renewal with a valid credit card, when the annual payment is due for renewal, NGV Members will be notified via email to advise of the forthcoming payment amount and processing date. Members may discontinue Automatic Renewal by providing at least seven days’ notice to the payment deduction.
How do I book my free NGV exhibition ticket(s)?
If you are yet to use your free exhibition ticket, you are welcome to collect this from the NGV Members Lounge at either NGV International or NGV Australia on the day you wish to view the selected NGV exhibition (ticket offer excludes the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibitions). The free ticket with a Family Membership is issued as a Family exhibition ticket for use in a single visit. Premium members can access all paid exhibitions for free by showing your NGV membership card at the exhibition entry.
How do I book Members programs or events?
Bookings can be made online, in person at the Gallery or by phoning NGV Members on 03 8620 2233. Early bookings are recommended for all NGV Members programs.
I don’t know my website login and/or password?
If you have forgotten your password you can select Reset Password when logging into your account
. A link will then be sent to your email address for you to reset your password. If you have forgotten your login details, please contact us on 03 8620 2233 or in person at the Gallery.
Is a refund available if I cancel my booking for a program or event?
Program and exhibition tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event that a program is cancelled by the NGV, you will be notified immediately and our team will issue a full refund.
Can I bring a guest to an Exclusive Member preview?
Previews are reserved for NGV Members only, however non-Members can sign up on the day and start receiving all the benefits of NGV Membership straight away.
Can I bring a guest to the Members Lounge?
As part of your Membership benefits, you are able to bring a guest with you into the NGV Members Lounges . Please advise our team that you are accompanied by a guest during your visit.
Can I add someone to my Membership?
You are welcome to add someone to your Membership at any time by speaking to the Members team during your visit or calling 03 8620 2233. Please note, all upgraded or downgraded memberships will be valid until the end of the initial Membership. Membership upgrades must be made in person.

You are welcome to upgrade your Membership at any time by speaking to the Members team during your visit or calling 03 8620 2233. Please note, all upgraded or downgraded memberships will be valid until the end of the initial Membership. Membership upgrades must be made in person.
Can I suspend or cancel my NGV Membership?
NGV Membership is non-refundable. The expiry date of an annual Membership subscription cannot be suspended or extended past the expiry date stipulated on the Membership.
Can I upgrade my current NGV Membership to a Premium Membership?
You are welcome to upgrade your Membership to a Premium Membership at any time by speaking to the Members team during your visit or calling 03 8620 2233. Please note, when upgrading to a Premium Membership you will put the value of your current Membership towards your Premium Membership & receive a full years’ worth of benefits.
I have been given an NGV Membership as a gift, how do I redeem this?
To activate your NGV Membership, please call 03 8620 2233 and quote the voucher number on the gift voucher or visit the NGV in person with the gift voucher. Your NGV Membership card will then be posted to your nominated address within 2-3 weeks of redemption. Gift memberships expire 3 years after the issue date and the voucher may not be replaced if lost or stolen.
