Why has Melbourne become the locus of housing innovation in Australia? Over the last decade, a range of new models have emerged in response to the low-quality of investor-driven options and a growing desire for more urban lifestyles. This exhibition presents a survey of projects both unbuilt and built, which reflect new approaches to finance, design, development and operations, including Nightingale Housing, Assemble, Property Collectives, CoDev, Tripple, and the Third Way. Together, these models suggest a more optimistic and inclusive vision of how housing can shape our city.
