From our team here at NGV, we’d like to express our very best wishes to our community at this time.

Due to the evolving nature of COVID-19 and after following closely the State and Federal Government’s advice, we have extended the NGV’s temporary closure until 30 June.

If you have pre-purchased tickets for current exhibitions or upcoming programs, our team will be in contact with you shortly to arrange full refunds.

We encourage you to visit our website and follow #NGVEveryDay on social media for updates and daily inspiration.

We are very grateful for the loyalty and understanding of the NGV community and wish everyone well during this time.

Presented by Open House Melbourne and Port of Melbourne

Sorry you missed this one!
Sun 22 Mar, 10am–7.45pm
55 Victoria Harbour Prom,

SUN 22 MAR, 10–10.45AM, 11–11.45AM, 12–12.45PM, 1–1.45PM, 2–2.45PM & 3–3.45PM

Step on board a catamaran to gain a new perspective of the city and the role this vital infrastructure plays in supporting our growing population and economy.

Melbourne’s port is Australia’s premier container and general cargo port and a vital trade gateway for Victoria, Tasmania and parts of regional NSW and South Australia. Over one third of Australia’s trade moves through Melbourne’s port – that’s over 3000 ships each year and 3 million containers.

The tours feature a guided commentary from port staff and take-in Victoria Dock and Appleton Dock, the port’s more historic facilities, before visiting the container terminals at Swanson Dock. All tours are round-trips, leaving from Victoria Harbour in Docklands.

Please note:
This tour is wheelchair accessible.
