SUN 15 MAR 10.30AM & 3.30PM

Yoga teacher Amanda Hawkey, and artist and landscape designer Heather Hesterman, have curated two walks where participants stroll and appreciate the plantings within Melbourne’s oldest city parks, Fitzroy Gardens. Today the mature trees and green open spaces within both parks are evidence of forward-thinking vision and insightful design. The walks offer an immersion into the different sites through silent soundscapes and headphones.

TreeGazing offers people an opportunity to slow down and observe. Echoing ‘forest therapy’ participants are invited to experience green mindfulness, resting on recycled matts whilst looking up to contemplate the arboreal canopies.

Please note: TreeGazing walks will proceed in rain, wind or sun so please check the weather prior to the event and dress accordingly. Participants may like to bring a notebook to record their reflections at the end of the session. Walks are suitable for participants 14 years-plus. Walks from the Old Treasury Building Museum will involve stairs.
